When building a race engine, replacing your potentially old and worn out oil pump can be just as important as upgrading pistons and rods. Your oil pump is critical to engine longevity. Think of your oil pump as your engines heart, pumping the necessary liquid to all of its extremities.
An oil pump is a relatively inexpensive part in the list of parts you will need to assemble your engine. Don't roll the dice, replace your oil pump with a brand new fresh OEM oil pump while your engine is apart, to avoid taking your engine apart again and starting over after an oil starvation failure.
We prefer to use genuine factory OEM oil pumps. The quality control, fitment, and finish are superior. They just work.
