This auction is for a brand new AEM Water / Methanol Injection Monitor. It is a full kit complete with the gauge, sensor, mounting hardware, wiring, logging software and instructions.

Why you want one:

Water and Methanol Injection has become wildly popular in the mainstream racing industry over the past several years. Its charge cooling capability, and increased octane-like affects give the potential of using race gas at a fraction of the price. However, methanol injection opens you up to a new potential dangerous failure if the flow of meth/water drops. Running race gas boost on a mixture of meth and gasoline will likely break an engine if the methanol flow were to suddenly drop.

The AEM Water / Methanol Injection Monitor is a safety measure to reduce the chance of engine failure if your water / methanol injection kit becomes inconsistant due to a pump failure, line blockage, leak, etc.

How it works:

A flow sensor goes inline between your water/meth pump, and your injection nozzle. Flow Rate is measured by the sensor and output to the 52mm Analog Gauge. Flow Rate is also logged internally on the built in datalogging memory. Logged data can be reviewed in the AEM Injection Monitoring Software. Using the AEM Software, you can set limitations and safety measures such as triggering a user-defined backlight warning flash if flow drops below a certain point. You can also trigger a 12V output wire if flow drops below a certain point. This 12V output trigger wire could be used to lower your boost, engage a limp-mode rev limiter, or any other safety measure you can think of to save your engine in the event of a flow disruption..
