The power plants in today's vehicle are extremely efficient as technology
advances every year. Motors are producing more horsepower and torque while

The radiator and water pumps are often constructed of metal components
which can take quite a bit of abuse. But most forget that the plumbing of
their cooling systems are constructed of flexible soft-rubber hoses that are
easily overwhelmed and can burst under the rigors of competition.

As the coolant in their systems heat up, they attempt to expand; this is why
they upgrade their radiator caps, so that they can take the added pressure
before opening into an overflow canister. At the same time, the
plumbing also begins to expand which can cause cracks to form and burst
overtime due to heat.
